Tracing lines for preschoolers 4

Today’s tracing lines for preschoolers are a series of straight lines and light arcs, drawn in a large ruling. Relatively easy to trace. Not too complicated for children starting to practice with tracing patterns.

In the first part of the worksheet, I prepared for kids two rows of simple geometric figures, such as squares, crosses and triangles. They are most often already well known to children, and therefore well recognizable. And familiar shapes are better to draw.

To work with this series of tracing lines, it is worth using „thick” stationery, i.e. crayons or markers. With our children, we worked best with markers. Thanks to them, any small irregularities in the pen’s guidance were less visible. The markers are also much easier to use. So they have a lot of advantages.

Drawing straight lines may seem simple and pleasant, but sometimes it seems to me much more difficult than drawing loops and bends. Therefore, remember to reward children for their willingness and perseverance in drawing along the trace, and not for the result of the exercise. Sometimes children are too self-critical, so they don’t want to do exercises that cause them problems. Let’s help them understand that it’s very difficult to get perfect tracing lines, and it’s the progress made with each exercise that counts.
