This pattern frame is a little different from most of the coloring pages I usually publish here. It is not a typical frame for a child’s drawing or a simple coloring page with bold outlines. It feels more like a decorative title page for a journal, diary, notebook, or sketchbook. Or a decorative gift insert for a book, with space for a dedication.
Why did I draw it? It all started with an empty space for personal words. I wanted to create a frame where you could write your name, a short dedication, a date, or a few personal words. Only later did more and more patterns begin to appear around that space.
The result is a collection of delicate shapes growing from the ground. A little like shrubs, leaves, and a tree rising above them. I did not plan this exact effect. My hand simply followed the lines, one after another. Sometimes this is how the most interesting drawings appear — from one empty space that asks for a frame.
You can use this printable coloring page as a title page for your own journal or diary. You can also print it on the paper of your choice and place it inside a book given as a gift. Just write a dedication for the person receiving it, and an ordinary book becomes a little more personal.
