Beautiful spring is slowly passing by. Spring flowers are beginning to fade, although some of them are still bravely holding on. I had to use this mood to draw one more picture.
I prepared a flower frame to print and color. This time it is a heart-shaped frame, surrounded by spring flowers. I left an empty space in the middle, so you can use it in several ways: as a handmade card, a greeting card, a picture, or a small art project with your own note inside. It can also work as a picture frame coloring page, especially if you want to draw something personal in the center.
The main element of this coloring page is a large heart with a delicate stitched edge. I wanted it to look a little like a paper heart, or one sewn onto a card. Simple, soft, and a bit handmade. Around the heart, I added spring flowers: African daisies, tulips, and forget-me-nots, plants that many people will recognize right away. I also added simplified versions of periwinkle and Spanish bluebells. They may be a little less common, but they filled the shape of the heart and the whole composition very nicely.
This heart coloring page was created mainly with handmade cards and greeting cards in mind. Especially spring ones. You can use it as a Mother’s Day card, a birthday card, a picture for Grandma, or a sweet surprise for a teacher at the end of the school year. It can also be a lovely gift for no special reason at all, because sometimes the nicest little things are the ones that appear completely unexpectedly.
Blank frames coloring pages – for cards and pictures
This flower blank frame coloring page is ready to download in two formats: Letter (8.5 x 11 inches) and A4 (210 x 297 mm). Simply pick the one that’s right for you.
Inside the heart, you can draw your own picture or write something straight from the heart. Short wishes, the name of someone you love, a few warm words, a simple poem, or one sentence a child wants to give to someone. You can also glue in a small photo, draw butterflies, bees, or ladybugs, or decorate the whole page with colored paper. This way, the heart-shaped flower frame can become something much more personal than a regular coloring page or a simple blank picture frame template.
It is a nice motif both for kids and for adults who enjoy calm flower coloring pages. It is not too difficult, but it has enough details to play with colors. The tulips can be red, yellow, or pink, the forget-me-nots blue, and the heart pastel, rainbow-colored, or completely imaginary. Here, you really do not have to follow any gardening rules.
Since this is such a spring-themed design, I also decided to use this printable picture frame as a Mother’s Day card with the words “I Love You Mom.” You will find it in the next post.
