After winter, it feels so good to reach for brighter colored pencils: yellows, greens, pinks, blues, and everything that feels even a little bit like spring. Easter eggs, flowers, chicks, bunnies, and baskets have a lightness that does not really need much explanation. They simply fit the time when the days become warmer, brighter, and a little more colorful.
I especially enjoy drawing Easter eggs, because they give so much freedom. They can be very simple, with just a few stripes and dots, or they can turn into a more decorative design full of waves, arches, flowers, tiny dots, and little ornaments. It is a lovely theme both for children and for older people who enjoy calm, decorative coloring.
