Blooming gloxinia in a pot – bold and easy coloring pages

This time I have a flowering houseplant coloring page for you. It is another drawing from my small series of indoor plants, which came about very naturally — simply because I like plants.

This drawing was inspired by gloxinias. It is not an exact portrait of them, but rather a loose, simplified version of a blooming potted plant that carries a similar mood. Gloxinias have always seemed to me a little romantic, a little retro, and at the same time very homely. They are one of those flowers that look as though they would feel most at ease in a quiet corner of a room, near a window, surrounded by everyday little things.

I enjoy drawing motifs like this because they have something warm and simply pleasant about them. You do not need a garden to enjoy plants. Sometimes a single blooming flower on a windowsill is enough to make a room feel much cozier right away. And I think that is exactly why I like houseplants so much — for their quiet, undemanding company.

This simple flower coloring page is ready to download in two formats: Letter (8.5 x 11 inches) and A4 (210 x 297 mm). Simply pick the one that’s right for you.

It is not only children who enjoy coloring. While sketching this flower for a coloring page, I was actually thinking more about slightly older coloring enthusiasts. The kind who enjoy cozy little corners in the comfort of their own home. But this potted flower coloring page can also be a good choice for kids who like flowers, leaves, and calmer, more homey motifs. It may be useful at home, in preschool, at school, or during nature-themed activities. It is also a nice excuse to talk with kids about the plants we keep at home, which ones bloom, and which ones are grown for their decorative leaves. Perhaps after coloring, someone will even look a little more kindly on watering the flowers on the windowsill.

Today’s drawing is a bold and easy coloring page. It has simple shapes, thick lines, and not too many tiny details. It is one of those pictures that can be colored without any rush, taking your time to choose the shades for the flowers, leaves, and pot.
